A Box Truck, a Bounty, and a Birthday

No, not that kind of bounty. Just a good haul from our garden.

A Box Truck, a Bounty, and a Birthday
Look at this bounty, it's a true Baker's Dozen!! And you can see the Bounty in the top right corner ;)

Things have been eventful this week! Kevin and I spent Saturday morning helping Taylor and Ahlina at my mom's. They moved into my mom's smaller bedroom and have all their pets in the room with them, so things are quite cramped. And so my mom agreed to switch rooms with them so they can have the bigger bedroom. But this required a lot of moving things around. And we needed to offload a fair amount to my mom's storage unit.

So, even though things between me and Taylor have been stressful lately and both girls have cold shouldered Kevin for months now, he's been constantly telling me to let him know when we're ready for help with the "heavy lifting". He ran the numbers on renting a cargo van from U-Haul, but they didn't have any of those available so we ended up getting the next size up. A ten foot box truck! (It was huge.)

I had thought one of my nephews would be cutting my mom's lawn the day before, but he didn't. So Kevin cut most of the lawn while Taylor and I staged some things inside, and then we started passing stuff off to him to carry out and load into the truck.

We were famished and exhausted by the time we transported everything to the storage unit, unloaded it, and returned the truck. So we stopped at Chic-Fil-A and grabbed a much needed lunch and then headed to my apartment to pick Riley up and hang out. (Kevin was kind enough to lug a beat up old dresser across two parking lots to the dumpster for me, since I don't need it now that Taylor and Ahlina moved out.)

The three of us headed right to Kevin's parents to jump into the pool! Then later we made some tried and true tacos for dinner and had ice cream for dessert.

This week was also Kelly's birthday! We had dinner and cake with her, Steve, Olivia, and Kevin's parents. Kevin had just shaved his head and Olivia was unsure how she felt about it and didn't want to come anywhere near him. That made him very sad. But on a brighter note, he pulled thirteen cucumbers out of the garden from only two plants!
