Hey! So, you'd like to keep up with all the cool (and boring) stuff we do? Awesome! We're honored... and you've come to the right place :)
You can sign up to get notified via email about our latest, and to be able to leave comments on our updates and engage with our other friends and family members who are on the site.
Since we publish frequently at times, we don't send notifications for every single update: We know our friends and families love us very much, but we also realize that you probably don't want us spamming you 2-3 times a week about every park we visit or every meal we happen to try our hand at cooking! So instead, we've taken more of a monthly newsletter route for email updates, where we'll periodically curate the recent highlights from our lives and send a brief write-up your way so you can read whichever ones seem appealing to you specifically :)
As for usernames on the site, we've adopted a pseudonym and first name approach that we invite you to consider adopting as well. For example, Kevin goes by wintermute (Kevin), and Athennia goes by kitten (Athennia). (Long story short, we find this both convenient and fun. Feel free to read more into it below if you'd like!)
Why Pseudonyms?
"Real names" are rather obvious: We'd love to know whose comments we're reading (and we imagine that our readers will feel the same). And yet, we have a no last names policy to help protect our loved ones' privacy... but, we also have an impressive number of pluralities amongst the greater population of our combined families and friends: multiple Kevins, Daves, Seans, and so on. (Only one Athennia so far though.)
So, that's where pseudonyms (or nicknames, aliases, or whatever else you'd like to call them) come to the rescue: They reduce ambiguity among people with the same name.
But, they're also fun and lighthearted! And, since we all get to choose them ourselves, they're typically more expressive than our given names. And, really: What's the point of a family blog if not fun and expression?
If you're good with that, go ahead and think up a mad-excellent pseudonym. Then click the button below, identify yourself in pseudonym (Firstname) fashion, and tell us an email address where you'd like us to notify you when we do cool stuff.
