A Lasagna Free Weekend
There was pizza. There were tacos. There was ice cream. No one had lasagna.
This was an eventful weekend with hardly a moment of downtime!
Friday
After work I went to Kevin's and we ordered takeout from Taormina's in Richboro with his parents and Kelly, Steve, and Olivia. Kelly also brought some leftover doughnuts for dessert that she had taken to work for her staff but had gone uneaten.
At some point, Olivia lost her pacifier and none of us could find it until midway through dinner when Kevin realized he was sitting on it the entire time. (Not really. It was on the back corner of his chair.) So Steve started offering theories on where a previously lost pacifier might have gone, and we were all cracking up!
Later that evening while Kevin and I were doing our weekly grocery shopping, I got a notification that I had lost power at my apartment (due to heavy storms that were rolling through our entire area). They were only estimating a two hour outage, but Kevin and I questioned whether they were lying like they do every other time or whether I would actually get electricity back before everything in my freezer thawed.
Kevin suggested we wait and see, and if the power didn't come back we could always run over and grab everything. So of course they waited until the two hours was almost up before updating me with a new estimated time of 4:00 in the morning!
Kevin and I jumped in the car and made the half hour trip over to Morrisville... only for me to realize that I had left the keys to my apartment on his nightstand! So we had to go all the way back (through driving rain and crazy wind) to get the keys, then make a second trip back to my apartment... only to find that even though my power was out, the outlet for my fridge must be on a separate circuit and was working just fine!!
Seriously???
Saturday
We spent all of Saturday with Riley. She had texted me at work yesterday to tell me she really wanted to hang out today. (We hadn't done anything last weekend because she went to Six Flags with her friend Kassie. And Kevin and I had Emily's birthday party.)
We had lunch at Brothers' Pizza in Langhorne and then went to Kevin's parents' house to swim. Riley also asked if we could go to the Dollar Store, and then we made tacos for dinner and had ice cream for dessert.
When we took Riley home, she wanted us to come upstairs and see the Garfield picture she had painted:

Sunday
Sunday morning Kevin and I took a walk in his neighborhood. Then we felt like swimming despite the chance of rain, and ended up getting to swim in a brief downpour! (The weather was fine otherwise.)
We spent the rest of the evening relaxing until it was time to meal prep for the week. We made a mega batch of meatballs and killed the last of the ice cream from last night's hangout.
Monday
Kevin suggested that I come over after work today so we could get one last meal out of the leftover tacos. Then we relaxed for a bit and he put on Brian Culbertson's Live from the Inside DVD while we played Phase 10.
It was a great weekend all in all. No lasagna but lots of fun unless you're Garfield.
