Birthdays and Bowling

I turned 44 this week, and Riley's boyfriend turned 14 :)

Birthdays and Bowling

I turned 44 this week, so last Sunday Kevin's parents had us and Kelly's family over to celebrate my birthday.

I got lots of cards:

And I requested Ron's grilled chicken for dinner and Catherine's scrumptious crumb cake for dessert.

Hannah helped me blow out my candles:

And then it was time to open all my cards:

Catherine and Ron gave me cash and Kelly and Steve gave me an Amazon gift card.

As is typical for my girls, Riley gave me some custom ink in my card :)

And Kevin knows how much I adore the A Court of Thorns and Roses book series, so he got me a framed laser cut wooden map of the series' faerie world of Prythian:

Then we all had cake!

And then we visited for a bit :)

Kevin and I got a great harvest from the garden this week:

🤷🏼‍♀️
Obviously those herbs looked a lot more appealing two hours earlier before they started wilting.

Monday evening on my way home from work I stopped and grabbed us Qdoba for dinner, and two bottles of moscato from the Wine and Spirits store next door.

By Tuesday (my actual birthday) we were all partied out and basically did nothing all evening.

And Wednesday I called out of work with a killer migraine. But Kevin made a big batch of nachos for dinner, and Riley kept him company in the kitchen to tell him about some of her new classmates :)

Then after dinner Kevin texted Jeff to offer him some more of our excess tomatoes. So Jeff brought his and Lillian's dog Turbo up to meet Odin, and so their unauthorized dog and our unauthorized cat got to hang out for a few minutes in full view of our neighbor Ruth's stupid little doorbell camera that she has facing directly into our apartment.

The rest of the week was pretty uneventful until yesterday, when we met up with Riley's boyfriend Taaro and his parents Kenny and Nina to go bowling for Taaro's birthday!

We went to Bowlero in Feasterville:

Kenny and Nina treated to bowling and snacks.

Here's Riley:

And Taaro and Riley, and our tray of appetizers:

And the happy couple :)

Afterwards Kenny and Nina took us out for dinner at Don Mezcal just down the street. And Riley gave Taaro his birthday present: a Funko Pop figurine of Gaara from Naruto:

🎂
Happy birthday, Taaro!

And thank you for dinner, Kenny and Nina :)
