Dublin or Nothin' and Evening Rush Hour

A few meals, a short road trip, and some Rush Hour.

Dublin or Nothin' and Evening Rush Hour

On Thursday Kevin sent me two pictures while I was at work:

Do you believe this stupid brain, thinking he can safely lift that much weight without a spotter? This is what they're teaching our kids these days! Just be glad Riley was busy making Kenny from South Park and not paying attention :)

That evening we decided to make a pizza for dinner:

Then on Friday I got home from work to find Kevin halfway through prepping a meal. He announced that he decided to try his hand at General Tso's chicken. And he had just finished dicing the chicken and already had the rice in the Instant Pot.

I jumped in and took care of egg washing and breading the chicken so I could cook it, and we tossed in some broccoli near the end. Everything came out delicious!

Later on we decided to go to Friendly's for dessert. But Kevin suggested that we take a little drive over to the one in Bensalem instead of just going a few miles down the road to the Fairless Hills one we normally go to:

On the way home, Kevin took us past his childhood home and elementary school, and he pointed out various other landmarks from his childhood as well. Then we went home through Hulmeville, a bit more of a scenic route than taking the moderately quicker Rt. 1 option.

Sometimes Riley is determined not to let Kevin get a good picture of her, but sometimes he's too quick and manages to snap her before she gets her hand up over her face:

😂
...and other times Kevin's vindictive streak comes out. He went right to his computer and threatened to change his wallpaper the moment we got home!

Late Saturday afternoon, we were sitting in the living room and starting to think about what to do for dinner. Then Kevin said he had an idea.

Okay, listen up! We're taking a road trip.
But put down the avocado. We don't need it where we're going.

And then we were off.

To somewhere.

We picked up Swamp Road in Newtown and stayed on it for close to half an hour.

And we ended up at Luberto's Trattoria in Dublin.

Kevin has been periodically raving to me about Luberto's for more than a year now. We just haven't had the chance to go until now.

The place was packed! But the atmosphere was nice and the food was great. Riley got chicken tenders, Kevin got a sausage pizza, and I had chicken parmesan with a side of penne and a salad (and a cappuccino).

Naturally Kevin gave Riley a hard time about the state of her plate at the end of the meal:

Did you actually EAT any of that, or did you just autopsy it?

Monday evening I made us garlic grilled cheese and heated up some tomato basil soup:

Then we watched Rush Hour (after Kevin convinced Riley to give it a chance and said she could leave after 10 minutes if she didn't like it).

She watched the entire movie with us, and then last night we watched the sequel:

Yet another photo snapped right as Riley is noticing that Kevin's phone is out.

So that has been this past eventful uneventful week :)
