Kids, Cousins, and a Calico Cat
Flora for dinner, fauna at the end of the night.
Yesterday Kevin picked Riley up from my apartment and took her to his parents' house to swim. I came after work but didn't feel like getting in the pool.
Kevin's parents were also having his cousin Pete's wife Alissa and their daughter Ellie over to swim and stay for dinner. So I stayed in the kitchen and helped Catherine prepare the meal. She and Ron made chicken (and macaroni and cheese for the kids), and I made a salad out of lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers from our garden.
Later Kevin and Riley and I played Taboo because Riley made a comment that it looked lame, so Kevin said now we had to play it. It was actually quite fun, but not nearly as difficult as I think it was intended to be.
Kevin offered to treat to ice cream and we went to McDonald's to just get basic cones. Surprise, surprise... their ice cream machine was McBroken. So we stopped at Giant and grabbed a couple flavors of Turkey Hill that were on sale.
As Riley and I were leaving Kevin's to head home, we saw five deer in the backyard and then a really friendly calico cat came up to us to get some attention, which Riley and Kevin were more than happy to give!
