Hi all,
Summer's officially here, June's officially over, and it is officially too damn hot outside!
We had a decently eventful month though. Here's what we got up to...
Some Long Overdue Hangouts
We reconnected with Kevin's friend Joe and his parents. Kevin's cousins Liam and Ellie turned 97 (they grow up so fast). And Riley finished eighth grade and officially became a high-schooler!
Father's Day Weekend
Athennia went on a killing spree. Kevin got to visit Joe's dad in the veterans' home. We had dinner with Joe and Paula. We celebrated Father's Day along with Ron and Steve. And parts of our garden are doing well—especially the parts we didn't plant!
What's the Damage?
We got walloped with some crazy storms. Riley inherited a laptop (and Kevin gave it the obligatory Linux treatment so it could come through our front door). Riley and Taaro went on a date. We played Dueling Thermometers in the middle of a heat wave. And sadly we also lost a good friend and the world lost a great man toward the end of the month.
But, we've survived Heat Wave #1 of the summer, as you'll see in this month's bonus cat pics. (Penny is still the queen of the ice cave; but for how long?)
Onward into July now... and, if previous years are any indication, it'll probably remain July until about mid-November.
