September 2022 Newsletter
Hi all!
We hope this inaugural installment of The Kartography Newsletter finds everyone doing well :)
September was an action-packed month! We're happy to report that we're all doing great: Kevin and Athennia are slowly but surely working on merging their households; Taylor and Riley are doing excellent in school; and Penny and Lucky are living their usual pampered lives.
Here are some highlights of cool things we did this month...

Kevin introduced Athennia and Riley to Playwicki Park and enjoyed stepping into the fatherly role at his all-time favorite childhood place where his dad used to take him.

Kevin and Athennia cooked a mega-batch of Kevin's famous pulled-pork nachos for dinner with Riley; Kevin's parents; and Kelly, Steve, and Olivia.

We checked out the very beautiful Aquetong Spring Park... and then embarked on an unplanned mission to rescue Riley's cat Lucky when he managed to sneak outside and get lost at Athennia's mom's!

We celebrated Athennia's birthday! And, Riley and Kevin's cousin Ava became fast friends when we attended a surprise party for Kevin's stepdad's 70th birthday :)

We got a little taste of Dark Hollow Park and had a small family dinner for Kevin's stepdad's actual birthday—where Riley got to hang out with her number-one fan!

Our garden was on fire throughout the summer, exceeding all our expectations even through a terrible drought and a bout with some pesky rabbits.

Kevin and Athennia ventured deeper into Dark Hollow Park and found some breathtaking scenery, then made a 10-pound batch of Kevin's chili to kick off autumn!
...And, on that note, we've added a recipe book to the blog!

We're still very much just getting started with this; so, there aren't a ton of recipes online yet. But, we'll be working to change that in the coming weeks!
That's about it for September. Here's to a happy October :)
Cheers!
