Two Flu over the Cuckoo's Nest

Two of us are sick. Again.

Two Flu over the Cuckoo's Nest

Kevin and Ryes have been down for the count this last week of February, so I guess it's up to me as the last woman standing to handle blog duties and close out the month!

We didn't do too much, but we did a little.

I got this really cool shot of some sun rays on my way home from work Wednesday.

Then later that evening I got some spam text about a 'Not My President' rally. And I'll remind our readers that Kevin and I have NEVER voted or even registered to vote, but I still wanted to say something to try to get myself off of these people's radar:

🤷🏼‍♀️
I guess it worked! Great :)

Thursday evening I saw that the Mario movie was free to watch on Prime, so Kevin and I decided to indulge:

I thought it was a cute story. Kevin enjoyed the first half but thought the entire second half was stupid.

Friday when I got home from work and came upstairs, Kevin tried to prank me:

😉
"So, I guess you saw the cones in the first parking space...

I talked to Leon earlier and asked what was going on, and he said they're putting in a second handicapped space for Fat Caucasian Smoker. Can you believe that?"
🙄
"Okay, honey. That would make no sense at all, since FCS's door is in the corner next to the existing handicapped space.

And also, I could literally see the water oozing out of the little manhole cover in the first spot as I got out of my car. So I know that's why the space is actualy blocked. Nice try though!"

We decided to cave and do Domino's for dinner Friday evening, but first Kevin and I ran out to Michaels to get some things we need for Catherine's birthday present in a couple weeks :)

On Saturday I drove Riley to Nina's place down in the city so she and Taaro could spend the day together.

We also had plans to go to Catherine and Ron's Sunday evening, where Kevin was making nachos for everyone. So he and I made a trip over there on Saturday afternoon to drop off the ingredients and our Instant Pot. Then we grabbed dinner from Wawa for ourselves and his parents and ate together back at their house.

Later that evening Kevin and I finished the final episode of Psych. Then Nina, Kenny, and Taaro brought Riley home just before 10:00.

Nachos on Sunday went off without a hitch:

Although later in the evening, Kevin spontaneously started sneezing and said his left nostril suddenly felt like it was full of fiberglass insulation or something.

Then when we got home, he and Riley both had runny noses and unshakable chills within a couple more hours.

😬
Sounds like the flu to me!
🤔
Good. Last time I had the flu, I got over it in four days. I'll take that over a stupid two-week cold!

In even more tragic news though, Catherine reached out the next morning to let us know that Kevin's cousin Troy's wife Dawn had died of a heart attack Sunday night :(

Monday afternoon our neighbor Lillian texted me to apologize for accidentally grabbing one of our Amazon packages from the stairwell and not realizing her mistake until she had opened it.

Of course Lillian and Jeff love our nachos, and this just happened to be a replacement bottle of the taco seasoning Kevin uses in his marinade for the shredded chicken. So I made sure to tease her a bit:

😡
Are you trying to reverse engineer our proprietary recipe, or what?
🤣
I didn't see ANYTHING! I promise!

Riley and Kevin's symptoms predictably worsened over the course of the day. So by the end of the evening Kevin asked if he and I could just watch something mindless instead of starting a new show that he would want to focus on.

So we settled on Ever After since we had both seen it before (about a million years ago).

Then on Tuesday evening we started watching A Discovery of Witches, about witches, vampires, and demons.

By Wednesday Riley was feeling even worse than Monday and Tuesday. But Kevin said if he could just get rid of his sinus pressure he wouldn't even know he was sick anymore.

Riley started to trend upward on Thursday though.

And last night we decided to take it easy and splurge on Qdoba for dinner (with McDonald's for Riley).

Kevin and I spotted a Ferrari at Qdoba:

And then shot back down the highway to grab Riley's chicken nuggets before returning home to feast like royalty:

And finally, we do still have a few cat pics to bring the month to a close despite a busy first half and a sick second half :)
