July 2025 Newsletter
Hey everybody!
We hope you're all doing well and that your July was less weird than ours was. On the one hand, it seems like we barely did anything the past four weeks; and on the other, it feels like we've been stuck in July for the better part of a decade.
As always, here are the tales of our exploits...
Out of Our Element(s)

All the freaks and kooks came out of the woodwork throughout the first week of the month. And we celebrated Fourth of July with Kevin's family.
A Week of Gall

After putting up with more than a year of its tantrums, Athennia finally had her gallbladder taken out! Three days in the hospital, and all we got were some stale saltines (and a nice bill for almost $50,000). On the plus side, at least she can eat quesadillas again now—and Mission BBQ, like we had while celebrating Catherine and Ron's anniversary :)
The Week in Operating Systems

Athennia and Kevin both had to play hacker over the course of the week, so we wrote this post as though everything was an operating system. Get ready for Cheeseburger MacOS, Windows-Pains, and LuigiBSD... and also some actual OSes in between.
Fire in the Hole

And a blah week to close out the month. Foxes abound at Kevin's parents' and at our apartment. We could've snagged a free couch but didn't. The usual, really.
Plus.......... bonus cat pics.
Since we kinda-sorta forgot to touch on it again after Athennia's initial write-up earlier in the month, she is recovering smoothly and steadily from her surgery (even if not as quickly as she would like).
She just had her follow-up appointment with the surgeon yesterday, and he said everything looks textbook. So, we're looking forward to getting back into our normal routine soon—catching up with our friends, starting up our evening walks again, et cetera—especially if this relentless heat would cut us a break!
Anyway, that's it for now. Have a great second half of your summer :)
Cheers until next time,
Kevin & Athennia & Riley & Taylor
